Here's a game concept that I have always thought about running as a Stars game. Take a read and let me know if any one would find this type of game interesting? It would be heavy on roleplay and it would take a great deal of trust and adherence to the rules and plot.
Unfortunately, due to work committments I am far too busy to run such a game at present. What I am looking for is interest not only in the game but in developing the scenario (I have more background and goals than what I have described below) and then hosting the game.

Introduction
------------
The year is 2344, and all known space is controlled by the Imperial Emperor Parchess XIX. The Imperium has been solid for the last 500 years, but now is the time for change.... interesting times are ahead....

Overview
--------
Technology is proscribed and controlled by the Emperor and by the Church. Therefore, there is a timeline to which technology can be used by the houses and imperial organisations regardless of whether the technology has been researched or not. However, houses/organisations *can* use technology illegal, although they run the risk of being found out. This can lead from a simple fine and destruction of the hosted technology to the excommunication of that house from the Church, which invites all other players to attack without mercy and with a Church license to use forbidden tech for the duration of the excommunication.

Wars are conducted to set honour rules. Fighting is planned well in advance and is limited to a set goal, such as the liberation of a planet, and for a set space of time. Upon completion of which honour is upheld or thwarted and a NAP takes affect for a set number of years.

Iron is the currency of the Universe, and tithes/payments are made in this. Each race has its own hidden goals (i.e. the Stars score doesnt mean a thing).

Races would be designed to a set template. Certain races have dispensation to use technology above the proscribed rate.

Races would work within the game rules that govern their actions.

There is trigger points in the game that produce events based on certain game or race actions or when a date is reached.

Races
-----
2 x Alien Races (1 x ??, 1 X ??)
1 x Emperor (1 x CA)
1 x Sard-Akur (1 x WM)
1 x Space Guild (1 x IT)
1 x Church (1 x SS)
1 x Merchantile (1 x IS)
8 x Houses (no SS, no IT)
1 x Founder Race

Race Descriptions
-----------------

Emperor
-------
You control the Imperium as the Emperor. Your skillful balance of the carrot and stick has kept the Imperium growing in a manner of peace. Until now. The houses grow ever more independant. The Space Guild more independant. The Church more zealous. The Merchantile more greedy. Rumours of the Founders abound, and there are reports of aliens...

Sard-Akur
---------
Your fighting prowess is unmatched throughout the entire galaxy. You are blindly loyal to the Emperor - his wish is your command.

Space Guild
-----------
The stars is your domain. Only you have the secret of instantaneous travel through the space lanes, and you charge for its use. You jealously guard your secondary planet, as it is this that holds the elements necessary to warp space.

Church
------
Holy is your word. You patrol the stars guarding against the terror that technology can bring, destroying the alien infestation whenever found. Each house and indeed the Emperor himself must pay tithe into the Church coffers. But the Imperium is growing, and the threat of wild technological advance is ever more present. Is the faithful losing faith...?

Merchantile
-----------
You are here to make money. Lots of it. You will have special dispensation to use advanced freighter techology. But recently, the Church and Emperor have been increasing taxes. Is this the start of the end for free enterprise within the Imperium?

Founder Race
------------
No-body knows much about the founder race. Certainly, traces of their advanced civilisation has been found on all known imperial planets. They remain elusive and their goals unknown.
