2024 Wednesday Thriller

The Chronicle reported yesterday that a ship's automatic beacon had been activated last week and patrol ships were sent to investigate when no contact could be made with the ship in question. When the patrol force arrived all they found was an empty husk of a ship. Where there should be clothes, toys, and dirty dishes was nothing but gleaming steel. The entire family had been cleaned out lock, stock, and pseudopod. Even the main computer had been wiped clean. Because it occurred in a region of space near the borders with (censored), and the recent incident with the loss of the colony ship, many felt that it was the (censored)'s way of getting back at us. I have since found some information (from my always reliable sources) that was not reported. It was true that the main computer was wiped and gave no information on the culprits of the massacre. Yes folks, massacre. Turns out that the families little girl, only six years old, was using the learning computer in her room. She had been answering oral questions, learning to extrude her vocopods, when the ship was attacked. So, the attack was recorded from the first clang as the ships met to the last scream as the little girl was shoved out of the open air lock with no suit on. The ship was in vacuum for most of the 10 dekamins that it was on before the auto shut off took over and shut down the learning system. That is probably why the attackers never discovered that they had been recored. Yes, except for little Fernlly's recording of her last minutes of life we never would have known just who attacked the ship. Why the Government should sit on such horrible information is unknown to me. I will say it, nay I WILL SHOUT IT, " THE EVIL HAND DID IT." This is no mistake, not a lost colonizer where the captain stood there to take the blame for his actions. No, this was a SNEAK ATTACK, hidden in the depths of space with an attempt to mask the culprit and blame the innocent. This Means War!! in my book. Write to your Representative and tell him what you feel about this attack.
