I also have not been lucky and got tech for a turn or 2.
I am however ready to set up gates - I am also 2 turns away from getting tech 7 energy and so churning out Croby Mini Frigates. - which is good as a few single ships of the enemy are checking out my (and Andrews) planets.

As for the bombers send them slowly towards A-something (I cant remember name but it belongs to Andrew) where they will be joined by 5 Broom class ships (which should keep them safe until the CMFs arrive).

So slower than I thought but should be in place to launch an attack by 2426 (ish).
