I don't like the idea of wins by forfeit or incompletion carrying less weight. I can see a couple ways of handling the idea of players not completing a duel.

The carrot: players who enter in duels and complete them, even losing, will be ranked. A player that is listed in club rankings will carry more "weight" and prestige than one who is not ranked (think of it kind of like the BCS ranking system - that's American college football for you overseas types). Even a player who has not won many (or any) duels will show on the rankings that they have fought more duels and would thus be a better opponent than a newbie to the club.

The stick: players who do not complete games, either by refusing to submit further turns or to acknowledge defeat, will quickly gain that reputation within the club and soon won't find anyone to play against. This will (hopefully) discourage other challengers from taking them on.

EDog's solution: Remember that it's a "gentlemen's club" and losing should be taken in stride and with good graces. There's no shame in losing a duel, especially if you are using it to experiment with a race you normally wouldn't play in a multiplayer game. One of the things I hoped to encourage in the creation of the club was players branching out and trying new things. If you enter a duel, finish it. If you have a challenger that bails on you, PM me with his name. If the same name keeps cropping up, I will take action (probably of the public flogging variety - "Player X has dropped out of 4 duels without completing them. Challenge this Player at your own risk."

Unfortunately, at this time I can't think of a viable solution to ranking a player whose opponent drops out, short of generating enough turns to be declared winner. Using the shift-click or control-click method can generate decades or centuries if need be. If you aren't the host of the duel, that presents another problem altogether. I'm open to suggestions here.
