A really early fuel booster design is a DD with 2 fuel pods, an engine and nothing else.
That allows your colonisers to use it as space shuttle fuel tank boosters.
Once the fuel is over, the DDs disengage and come back to the planet to refuel.

I'll see if I can reinstall my skype.

I know my minefields.. but I'm a chaff sweeper.
I used to curse when I got stuck in traffic... till I realised I AM traffic.
