I thought of that myself, but I couldn't find a folder of that name, and I didn't remember the exact spelling required for that folder to make it work.
However, if I don' manually shut down AHK before shutting down XP Mode, then the AHK script is running when I start XP Mode the next time, so I don't need it to autostart, I just have to remember not to shut it down
Since the problem only occurs in Stars!, not in any other programs that I have tried in XP mode, I don't think the suggestions in that link to Logitech forum would work, they seem to be solutions to problems related to the mouse itself (some of them hardware problems), and those problems would not just occur with Stars!, they would happen all the time.
In any case, I now have a solution that works well, thanks to the help of Autohost forum
