I tried AutoHotkey and the Buggy-Mouse script, but that did not help - Probably because that script is intended to solve double-click issues, not held-click issues. It may be that AutoHotkey could solve the problem, but I would have to find out what variables to affect in the script, and working that out would probably take some time.
I suspect that the AHK solution to this problem is far simpler than the script to correct double-click issues. However, I've done a few AHK scripts, and I know the learning curve is steep even for simple stuff.
It's just a matter of defining a keyboard shortcut that sends a single mouse click to the OS at the current mouse coordinates. In fact, it might be as simple as a single-line, single-word script, with the script itself linked to a hotkey combination. I'll take a look tomorrow and see if it is as simple as I suspect.
