Actually, this is only speculations.

I sensed from Magic a good interest to ally or at least cooperate with me in the past. That was right before he "dropped out". Also, that seemingly observed pressure from the Shofixti never happened even in Magic time. I have a fast scout design which I expected to be shot down ages ago but which I kept in use for decades before someone found a way to counter it. And the very first year that Nmid took over the Shofixti those scouts suddenly started to be shot down from Shofixti border planets.

Nmid happen to have put the most pressure on the Phalanxes that the Shofixti ever did, Magic and Fish era combined.

Would have Magic actually cooperate with me? No idea. Would I have assisted the Sea Dragons if it wasn't that the Shofixti remained mostly neutral? No idea here either. If the Shofixti had not stayed neutral then I would probably not have been so aggressive toward the Aerials either, vendetta or not. There is so many "if"s, this is why it is only speculations.

Also, I haven't "played poorly diplomatically". I've got all the available early doors shut off from the other party. This left me completely isolated. No wonder I didn't hear from the Shofixti in so long, Magic wasn't playing. I consider what Asmodai (Aerials) did a turncoat betrayal and I declared vendetta on them. The Crowe, my only other neighbor short of the Shofixti, was allied with the Aerials. What is someone gonna do with that? But once I managed to get a line with other races I suddenly got other doors which didn't simply shut down. Sea Dragons was the first one and then other opportunities happened to me. This is the magic of playing IT since I can gate whatever I want to the other side of the galaxy.

In short... Anything could happen and bring your so well prepared plans in jeopardy. That's the very nature of a game of STARS!.

It doesn't change anything about the real problem here: take your dilemma to the host. From what I understand, the very host approved from Fish playing the Shofixti race for so long. So Sproket is to blame if there is any blame to be given.

Starting 3 different threads on the matter and bashing the new player even IRL for a problem which is not his is not helping. It actually make your case quite weaker.
