It was Basic01 that caused the last two freezes.

Some how we got the Player #1, Fleet #1(P1F1) at a starbase bug, called 'Crash Stars Bug' in the Wiki.

It happens whenever P1F1 is at a (P1)planet with a starbase. None of the things I've read about it apply to this game except that everyone is set to enemy. So I'm just having P1F1 moved into a corner and made off limits.

Player 1 is going to play with only 511 useable fleets but I don't think that's going to matter in this game.

I think it's to do with the P1F1 (as stated above) being on a planet with a starbase AND with the last player having a starbase in the last slot (slot 10) (Say 10 players in all, so P10SB10).

Anyway, to avoid the problem skoormit pointed out for player 1, his fleet 1 should have two ships.
That way, when he does want to scrap that design, all P1 has to do is to xfer both those ships from F1 into a new fleet Fxx... and split another fleet (in space) Fyy into F1.
Or just have the last player keep his 10th base slot empty for those couple of years, if he only has a blueprint in P10SB10.

I know my minefields.. but I'm a chaff sweeper.
I used to curse when I got stuck in traffic... till I realised I AM traffic.
