Greetings All,
With life changing and some of my free time being inevitably longer and longer I may be starting a RPG game soon based in the Stars! Universe. The first expansion "Genesis Wars" will hopefully consist of 16 players in a Small Packed Universe. After year 50-70 Players will have the option to "Expand" into neighboring sectors. The Original Sector is cramed due to the fact of it being the core, where space is very limited but stars are plentiful. Neighboring Sectors will consist of Medium Dense Galaxies and hopefully, Again, 16 players.
There will be a point system for race design where, depending on PRT, one must leave x-amount of points left over in the race wizard. As the game progresses players have the oportunity to "evolve" their race by alocating more points to the race wizard, though players who are "expanding" can not change their PRT or make dramatic changes to their econ (like going from -f to HP for example).
In this thread I would like to discuss what a good point system would be. To start off we can put the #Stars! Chanel point system posted on the News Forum:
AR 50
SS/PP 100
WM/HE 125
SD 137
IT/IS 150
JOAT 175
CA 200
Since it takes hundreds to thousands of years to "evolve" these points can only be taken away after the second game, or first "wave". There will be a time, if at some point all 7 games have been played out, that their can be expansions into a neighboring galaxy, where the point system reverts back to the normal but races who orginated from that galaxy recive the full points in the race wizard.
There also may be a point system regarding the ability to obtain aditional "underlings" or players who act under your wing for aditional "expansions". Every 100-140 years Player Positions among the Ranks (1st, 2nd, 3rd, etc.) and points will be located to each one. Players with lets say 10 points gets an aditional PRT or "underling" for a future game. Since there are 16 players, and how in the first game how a good 1/4th of that may be gone by year 2450-70. I was thinking about using the following point system for players to use to purchase what they want:
1st-4rd: Gets 5 points per game
5th-8th: Gets 3 points per game
9th-16th: Gets 2 points per game
Aditional points may be gained for good RPing and the like but the way it works. But with 20 points you can gain an aditional "underling" for a future expansion, though 6 points can gain you an aditional identical race with a handicap. 12 points lets you change your PRT without a handicap, or slightly change your econ. Keep in mind that this can only be utilized if there is enough room in each game. So if you want a lot of "underlings" you need to expand into empty territory, if one game is full I can add an aditional game if enough players ask to start another game.
So if anybody has any suggestions regarding how to set the game off on the right foot let me know. I should have the game ready and organized by the Middle of December if not after the Holidays.
If any are interested let me know and I will reserve your spot ASAP, as well as keep a log of any comments you may have. For specifics on the 1st game:
Acc BBS Play
Small Packed (Hopefully with Max 16 players) Distant
Random Events are Enabled
Public Player Scores will NOT be enabled
All PRTs will be allowed
Chaff/Split Fleet Dodge Allowed
If you have questions regarding any other "hack" or "cheat" the answer is "No, not allowed".
Future games will have the following Stats though are not limited to:
Medium Dense Distant
_NO_ Acc BBS play
Same as above for everything else
Race Limitations:
Expansion Races MUST have Low Starting Population and Races who originate (as in new players who just got in) Must have LSP unchecked. Handicap will be enabled for 1st game and after it is fare play, again Chaff and Split Fleet Dodge only.
All players who join will be put into a database. Anybody taking advantage o
