What happens if you can have no secrets?
Host runs a non-competing 1WW WM race.
Host creates game and does the following before players get to make orders:
1) Open all player .m files and give orders for endless alchemy.
2) Generate enough years for his WM race to get lots of tech.
3) Create strong penscan fleets and distribute them around the universe so that every single planet is in range of a pen scan at a range of at most 50%.
4) Reset all the player HWs: take off all pop and minerals that have accrued.
5) Take the password off of his host race.
Then the players get to play. They have essentially the same starting position as a normal game, plus the presence of the host race and the free access to the host .m file, with which you can see orbits of all planets and designs of all ships in play.
I would think it would work better as a small/fast game. Think: 8-player brawl where everyone knows what everyone else is up to at all times.
What say you? Too dull to play a game with complete information available at all times?
