Autobuild builds as many facs and mines as possible, leaving any partly-built items for the next turn to finish. In that regard it's no different from manual orders that are tailored to be always in the green. Deal

Bear in mind that it's not a magic tool. If your own manual orders fail to maximize production, Autobuild *might* improve things, but that's not guaranteed. Whip

That said, most people find that "Autobuild 500 Facs" then "Autobuild 500 Mines" is a convenient setting for most planets and even make it their Default.
