Files: Micha has agreed to be a third party for this game, to check the turn files for cheats and make sure all the race files have passwords. Please PM him with your .r files ahead of time. Once the game begins please also send him your .x files every year, and your .h files every five years, which should help in the event of dropouts.

No need for .x files, the .h file is the only important file. Also please keep me updated on PW changes.

Finally, craebild has offered to create a movie of the universe with Xtreme Borders after the game has ended. In order for this to work, each player will need to create a .pla file ever year. While you're in Stars! go to Reports> Dump To Text File> Planet Information. This will create file in the Stars! directory with a .pla extension. Then rename the file to the year you made it and put it in a folder with the other .pla's.

The simplest way to do this is probably to create a new folder in your Stars! folder when the game begins. Name the folder "Hardheads." Let's say you've just created your .pla for 2400. You would find it in the Stars! folder and rename it to "2400.pla." Then put it into the "Hardheads folder." Then do the same thing for every year after that--2401, 2402, etc.

I can make that even more simple. Wink I will set up the page so that I receive *all* .m files of every year (this to have a backup), I will setup some filters that save the attachements into a folder with the year as name. When the game is over I will run a batch file that dumps the .p file of each race for every year (need the race PWs for that). I'll zip these .p files and sent them of to craebild.
Making the movie year per year in Xtreme Borders is the real work, and I'll be happy to leave that upto him. Wink

That's what I did to create the animated gif in this post. (note that it's not a screenshot of *every* year, intervals are larger)
