A couple of questions:
1. How will the Shadow/Vorlon allies be determined. Will there be any association with alliances in the movies (tho I think the Drakh were the only actual ally of the Shadows unless you count the Centauri assistance given 2 them)?
2. In the original Stars game the Shadows became unstoppable. Just well played? Why not this time? Would it be a good idea to increase # stars in the universe to increase minor race eventual power or maybe to limit the size of those minor races who will become allied with the Ancients (or maybe just to the Shadows)?

I'll take the Llort. Alternatively I will play the Shadows or Vorlons if you have no more advanced player. I have not played that many games but I understand most of the strategies & would be confident of making a fist of it.

1. Mutual agreement by the parties involved will determine the alliances. Game will pause at that point until the sides are finalized.

2. In the original game the Shadows had a number of battle fleets ready at the end of phase 1. These fleets flew through wormholes. The Vorlons sent a number (30+) of unescorted colonizer privateers from their HW. The Shadows intercepted and killed 3/4 of them. The Vorlons were restricted to 1/4 of the universe. The Shadows ended up with colonies in 3/4 of the universe.

Hopefully we will have a full game with 12-13 younger race players. That should result in 6-7 Alliance players. If there are not to many drops or totally lame races, the alliance should be a credible threat to the elder races. Also, if a diplomatic genius plays a younger race, the elders may not have the best alliances.

The dicussion in the original game thread gave the advantage to an IS over an SS. IS can develop a longer term economic advantage. With only 10 planets to either elder race, the game should depend on the younger races rather than the elders.
