A crippled remainder of the empire that could not give much. I'd be glad if it would rebel, just to get an option to remove it completely.

IMO you should think of something less tasking to help the conqueror dealing with his conquests.

I don't think there's any proposed rule preventing you from suiciding the race once you have control... You could just make it upload all but 100 pop from each world as your invasion fleets arrive; ship all minerals to your own builder worlds etc...

If they inhabit worlds you can't inhabit, then for minimal MM you could queue them up building one dedicated mainline warship that you can mass-transfer to your king race every 5 years, which would minimise mm in terms of fleet movements.

Obviously the more time you are willing to invest the more you will get out of the conquest, but I certainly wouldn't see a capture as a bad thing.
