Bukane and nRavergz initial expansion was purely against the Quartez (PP HP race ?), and also the Foodfight who allied with Quartez. Maybe this fooled you into thinking the Quartez were further West than the Atar.

Well yes. That is true. But what was I supposed to "blink" at you with ? I had 6 planets and Weap 9 tech and it was a far flung colony nowhere near my main area. When I attacked later on, you flattened me.
Surprised that no-one accused me of sneakily transferring minerals to you by fighting !
I saw no sense in fighting you really. Was hoping you'd feel the same way.
I had 4 (or 6 early on) other races to worry about and was mainly trying to survive from the Foodfight.

And here is the another part of the reason that Bukane grew.
If you had fought Apple and Zerg you may have had more success and also left Muppets and Purple to fight Bukane.
I'm not saying this in an accusatory fashion.
I'm just saying "IF".

I think the Bukane have done very well.
Good choice of ally, good race design and played well.
