Sub-thread of game discussion:

What utilities did the teams use to help with their planning, coordination, and general Stars! work?

I'll lead off by naming a few I used, or the IRC Team used:

Posey's Spreadsheet (stars!.xls)
I was using this for checking overgating damage, and also at a latter stage to check out projected costs on some warship designs. (If you have not heard of this, get it. There's a lot of useful stuff here.)

Stars! Xpert (strxprt.exe)
Little utility with six tabs of calculations. I mainly use the packet calculator tab, occassionally the bombing tab.

Opt Move (optmove.exe)
Utility written by Leit that you enter max warp and distance and it punches back the optimal warp settings and distance for travelling that distance. Very useful for ship movements that are fuel-limited or time constrained like shifting population or orbital adjustors.

Combine (combine.exe)
Utility written by Leit that combine multiple pxx reports into a single output file. (Also does processing with fxx reports.) The program was modified during the game as well.
The .f00 and .p00 files were extremely useful. The latter is essentially a combined .pxx for the entire team -- and thus makes a great import file for other utilities.

TT8v2 Spreadsheet (tt8v2.xls)
My contribution to all this. This is the second generation of the Ugly_TT spreadsheet for calculating terraforming values and "best race" to colonize a given planet. As the game went on I developed some additional sheets. And eventually had a separate heavily modified version developed simply to streamline the work needed for controlling OA deployment. I'll probably clean up the sheet a bit, make it work with "generic" combine or pxx files and make it available for download in the next couple of weeks.
