1) Is it allowed to switch teams every second turn if that helps you to use more than 3 other players stargates?
2) Is it allowed to form overlapping teams so that none of the single teams have more than 4 players?
3) If I use a startage from player X, it clearly means that player X thinks I am in his team. But, by using his stargate do I also confirm that player X is in my team?
(I.e. I cannot prevent someone _wanting_ to be in my team by setting me as friend? But, am I allowed to use his stargates if I don't think he is in my team?)

Man, this is like interpreting contracts!
Okay, here are my rulings:
1) Switching teams frequently to allow alliances with more than 3 other players goes against my previous rulings of no more than 4 members per team. To utilize another race's stargate requires you to have that race set as "Friend". Therefore, you may only use stargates of your teammates.
2) I will define a team as a group where ALL members are allied with, and only with, each other. You may maintain treaties with non-teammates as you see fit, so long as you have ONLY your teammates set to "Friend" status. For victory purposes, only those who meet this description can claim a victory and move up in player rankings.
3) By using another race's stargate or him using yours, you confirm that each of you have set the other race to "Friend" and are therefore on the same team.
Wik: To summarize, if you set someone to "Friend", it should be mutual and therefore you are part of a team.
Also wik: You cannot use stargates of races not on your team. Nor can they use yours.
Also also wik: I'm trying hard to be fair in these rulings, the issues of which seem to target one race in particular in this game. I have no wish to handicap someone in strategic planning for short- and long-term, but I also don't want to see anyone working loopholes either. If I do, I will try to close them. Can't we all just get along?
