We have found an unusual number of minefields of all types all about the galaxy. This is disturbing indeed as our ships are greatly retarded as they are programmed to five year warp jumps. We finally received a message in the chaos and here is what our scientists have decoded it to say:
"SIMPLY SEND 6 TIMES 10 TO THE 50 ATOMS OF HYDROGEN TO THE STAR SYSTEM AT THE TOP OF THE LIST, CROSS OFF THAT STAR SYSTEM, THEN PUT YOUR STAR SYSTEM AT THE BOTTOM OF THE LIST AND SEND IT TO 100 OTHER STAR SYSTEMS. WITHIN ONE TENTH OF A GALACTIC ROTATION YOU WILL RECEIVE ENOUGH HYDROGEN TO POWER YOUR CIVILIZATION UNTIL ENTROPY REACHES ITS MAXIMUM! IT REALLY WORKS!"

"Really? Wowee! I'm going to hit those books right now, Professor!"
"Just be careful when you build your stargates, Timmy. If you try to shove something too big through one or send it too far, you might never see it again. Allow me to demonstrate. I've set up this Stargate here which has just enough power to send a hamster across the room. Now, there's a Stargate in Boston where a colleague of mine has a great recipe for baked beans. I'm going to send you through this gate to bring it back for me."
"Sure thing, Professor! Here I go..."
