That's right. I'd forgotten it till you just reminded me, but at the time, I was pretty nervous about the Higard fleet and intentions. It seemed very unlikely that they would commit to a long term, long range attack on Cancer. Especially when I had some very nice looking worlds just to his north.
I wasn't seriously thinking I could win at that point. I knew it was possible, but it didn't seem likely. I was in 4th place at the time, with Cancer, Moties, and Freen all bigger then I was. I figured the odds of passing all 3 to be slim to none.
