Some joker has brought up the important issue of ownership of threads.
Quote: | The thread is considered to be owned by the person who created it.

I believe this brings up important issues of intellecual property ownership in Stars! Not only threads but stars race designs are the intellectual property of their creators unless explicitly donated to the public domain.
In line with the original US copyright laws http://earlyamerica.com/earlyamerica/firsts/copyright/
Quote: | The Copyright Act gave protection for a period of 14 years, with the right of renewal for another 14 years.
|
Before the copyrights expire we will lobby for the extension of them over and over again till copyrights extend 80+ years. Just like Disney, we must protect our mickey mouse race designs.
I think it is clear to every intelligent person how this system is for the public good, it will stimulate better threads and better race designs. Knowing that long after your dead a corporation will profit on your intellectual property is a key requirement to creativity and progress. If you believe otherwise you are dumb. Not meaning to be rude, just telling it like it is.
(Appologies for posting this in Academy section by accident)
