Overloaded:

IT game only! This game will have a 100 year jump, and be set in a tiny - small universe. All races must be IT, have NAS selected (this will be subjected to vote), and have all Hab. ranges set to smallest and shifted all the way to the right.


-tiny-small universe
-Only IT PRT is allowed
-All must select NAS (subject to vote)
-Accelerated BBS


Rules:
-all races must have Hab. ranges set to smallest setting and shifted all the way to the right
-Packets ARE allowed
-max of one ally. If you ally with another player, you must ditch the first, and notify him as well.

Winning conditions-
The surviving alliance (max of 3 peaple) will be declared the winners

All skill levels welcome
Looking for 10-15 players

I will be playing, looking for somebody to host the game (Ashlyn, Storm?) and perhaps one other person to run a Joat Tech and Info trade race (would have all the same rules as regular race except that nobody can attack them, they are HP Joat, and have -50% tech)

I will most likely not join this game because I am already committed to another game that starts soon. Crying or Very Sad

However, if I die early in that game and/or it takes a while before this game starts, I might be interested. Smile

Your poll can be interpreted in two ways: Razz
1) Shall we allow advanced scanners? yes/no
2) Must we select "No Advanced Scanners"? yes/no

Then again, it might just be me.... Embarassed

I would say "no" to the first question and "yes" to the 2nd. Very Happy

NAS would result in less MM. Smile

This is none of my business since I probably won´t play, but how about banning trade and interracial communication except stardardized alliance-proposals?

That would make turns go faster.

You may want to consider using a WM as the tech trade race. You can ban the WM specific items but this way the ship designs are available to the WM for information trading.

I'd be willing to play the trade race and possibility do the hosting.

Hi dethdukk,

That's an interesting idea. Probably the game will be over soon, and Mineral Packets will rule the universe.
I expect you want to let the players send one turn and then force generate 100 turns.
Perhaps you should forbid scouting, i.e. let the players scrap all their initial ships. Otherwise, it's no big problem to have all planets scanned by year 100 with the starting ships.

And you should define quickly if you want a small or a tiny universe. For IT, it makes a big difference (no 2nd HW in tiny).

I don't know if I'll be playing yet. I first said "No", but the game is getting more and more intersting as I am thinking about it Smile

Could you clarify how many turns a week there will be, and when you expect to start?

There's HUGE difference when staring with one or two planets. Two planets means weapons maxed, one planet means weap-22 with fastest (not best!) design.

Blody knife-fighting universe! Don't spoil it with next option.
Since packets are allowed I'd vote for small sparse uni, or there will be too many kills too early.

Too many IMO. Large alliances tend to slow down the pace of the game. I'd suggest only one ally.

I'd strongly suggest to exclude beginners. They'll not be able to make proper race and will be just a fodder for more experienced players.

For tips in designing your race you may want to check RGCS's topic: "Race for a tiny sparse universe with 100 year forced generation".

More like born enemies when all want exact same planets? Surprised Allowing alliances to win is somewhat counterintuitive there. Rolling Eyes Cooperation between players has always been ... even in games where most aspects of it are forbidden.

Other thing to notice is that if the game is played in small universe then secondary planet is quite random and seriously alters perfomance. 100 year gen and race with 100% initial hab at secondary world is about 15 years ahead with tech of itself with 25% hab at secondary world. Confused Germanium concentration also affects the result ... but not so seriously. Nod

This will be in a small-sparse universe, and with mineral packets. I am looking for so many players that all the planets are HWs.

You may not use the starting ships to scout (if you wish to scrap them, thats your choice), but the Info Race may. Whoever playes the info race (Ptolemy) can have penetrating scanners, and you may make it however you wish.

You will take your first turn, and then there will be a 100 year generation.

This game is meant to end very quickly, so if you are a beginner, you will probably last almost as long as the winning player.

The vote is meant to say: should NAS be banned?

Max allies has been switched to one.

Anything I didnt cover?

Oh yes...

Turns will be one a day, monday-friday, until a player asks for a slower rate, which may be done at any time

I hope one of you guys can help me out with something. I think I'm missing the point of this game!? Crying or Very Sad Isn't playing a "IT OWW" race in a tiny universe sort of like playing in an all SD game with mine fields banned?

Well, I guess it is a good neutral race and makes it more interesting since you see all HW with gates and also bring packets into play.

Then why wouldn't you just play with PP's!? If your looking for a fast " hard hitting game" then that would be the way to go.
I know that if you ever lost your Starbase you'ld be in a world of hurt BUT good luck to the guy who takes your planet.
The 1st packet in the air would give away you HW so it would be the same in that reguard.
Just a suggestion.

The reason I decided to make it IT is the fact that IT cant use packets as well, and they can use allies gates to go behind an enemy. So instead of having one front (PPs would have this) the map is a jumble of races, nobody "owns" any amount of space.

I see. Thanks. An attack could virtually come from Any HW.
Which could be a potential wormhole. So to speak. Shocked
But this format highly promotes diplomacy: Allies helping to defend in time of need, etc.
I though that was one thing you wanted to cut down on.

I COULD join you now, but then either I might have to be temporarily replaced later on (untill my other game, TWWT, is over for my part) or we might have to change to fewer turns per week due to my time constraints (and back again when TWWT is over for my part).

I guess these scenarios are not so popular, but it is all I can offer at the momemt.

It is a good game, Dethdukk, but I think "Twin World Wonder Two" have made some of the potentially interested players too busy to join it.

I would like to play but 2 problems:

1. You have not confirmed whether we MUST take NAS (I prefer this otherwise no good surprises Wink)
2. Not sure when it would start. I will be on holiday for a couple of weeks mid-september so as long as it is after that I can play.

For the NAS question, base off the poll. Right now we have 3 votes for NAS, and one for without. As for when it starts, it will start as soon as I have enough players.

Just to clarify again:
I voted the first option, "No Advanced Scanners", because I think that everyone should take "NAS". Have I voted wrongly? IMO, the poll was clear, until I read your clarification...
