This is probably documented somewhere, but I couldn't find it.
What information on a planet do you get without having a scanner (e.g. orbiting fleet without scanners)? I don't think you get hab info, but do you get up to date population and defense %? Inversely, What information is potentially outdated even if it says 'report is current'?
Thanks!

If you have no data on the planet, then in most cases you just get ownership information. You'll know who occupies the planet (if anyone does) but no population/defenses/hab data. However, there are some cases when you get more info. For example, if you bombed the planet you'll know more.
If you had some information about the planet (population, hab, defenses), then it gets more complex. In most cases, you'll just see the old data and it will likely be outdated. But there are exceptions when you get to see up to date information. I don't remember all of them and don't think it's intended behavior.
