Hi everyone. I was thinking back to the nineties today, and remember that before I started playing the final incarnation of Stars, I briefly played version 2.5 unregistered shareware version (at least I think it was 2.5)
I remember that there was a railgun that could shoot all over the battle board (only 1 damage though..) and that the game was otherwize different in many other ways too. But my memory eludes me, I don't remember much of the 2.5 version. So I was wondering if someone else does? And can share info on what was different in that version of stars compared to 2.6/2.7? Was the race balance completely off? Fewer races? Completely different weapons? Any fond memories, or not so fond memories? Does anyone still have an old version laying around? After all, the KN-2050-site only has the update files.

Well, I can't offer 2.5 but some time ago there was a discussion about old Stars versions and someone pooled in old Stars 2.0b which I put on my download space. It's an early Stars version where fuel still needs to be mined and some now extinct weaponry is still in use.

PS: Heck, I've found the place where we last talked about Stars 2.0b in this forum... the "some time ago" which I imagined perhaps 2 years ago was, as a matter of fact, in 2008... 8 years ago. Time!
