I give up. The AI is killing me. Not as in, beating me. As in, it's killing me how bad the AI is. Wall Bash

I want to blitz. Who's with me?

I'm thinking super-ultra-blitz. A whole game in one day. Five minutes per turn. 2 Guns

Design your race to be fast to grow and fast to manage. 3I HE might want to sit this one out. Silly hair

Game details very TBD, but I'm thinking something with a single objective victory condition: most points/planets/resources/tech/capital ships/something after 75 turns (or so; depends on how crazy the rest of you are). Deal

Assuming we have North American and European players, probably start around 13:00 GMT on a Saturday. Can finish 75 turns in six hours and not entirely neglect other important things like family and football (either kind).
I'm just looking for a show of hands: who is interested?

I've played a few blitz duels* but never really gotten comfortable in playing those 5 min turns.
I've found that I really need 10-15 mins for those 4 years a burst per turn and you really start wishing those bursts come down to 2 year bursts real soon.

I could try it out again though, especially with multiple ppl in the game!! Smile

Five minutes a turn is crazy fast. And super tense. Not suggested if you are on medication for blood pressure. Smile

It's almost like playing a RTS. You just don't have time to do everything you want to do. Definitely a very different feel from your standard 1-turn-a-day pace.

Keep It Simple is the best plan. And forget about MM. All those little MM-reducing features like fleet routing and patrol orders and default queues and the "repeat orders" checkbox become crucial.

What we need's a few good taters.
