I have an idea for a new game. Not sure if it is doable or if anyone would be interested.
Huge/Normal/Distant
5 human players.
10 AI (all HE expert).
1 non-playing host.
Acc BBS.
AI forms alliances.
SETUP
Host moves planets around as follows:
- Move player HWs to outer edges of map, spaced evenly apart (ideally at the vertices of the largest regular pentagon that fits in the universe).
- Move all AI HWs to the central 1000ly x 1000ly square of the map. AI HWs already in the center do not move. AI HWs not already in the center move the minimum amount necessary.
- Move any planets outside the "ring" of player HWs inside the ring, maintaining some minimum space (50ly?) between player HWs and empty planets.
- Move host player HW off to a corner.
I'm not sure how much of this setup is possible exactly as described with the current set of universe mod utilities. I'm hoping there's some way to get pretty close to what I'm after: humans spread out equidistantly in a ring on the edges of the map, and the AI HWs all in the central 50% of the map.
Special rules:
Attacking another player's HW is not allowed.
Victory Conditions:
The first player to occupy three AI HWs wins.
No allied victories.
That's it. It sounds fun to me, but rather than explain why, I'll sit quietly and listen to what y'all have to say about it. I'm especially interested in if you would tweak any of the particular settings.
I'm not even sure a host player is needed. I was thinking that the host would verify occupation of AI HWs via scanning, but maybe it works to just let the players play, and when someone yells Bingo! the host can look at that player's .m file. An in-game host monitoring the universe by scanning would be able to post messages alerting players to the current score (which players have occupied how many AI HWs).
What we need's a few good taters.Report message to a moderator

Hi,
AIs don't seem to work very well in autohost. I know the last time (Tempest in a Teapot) ran it ended up that the AI race crapped out the game. (this was with JRC4)
However, if you are interested in running it and genning locally that could work.
regards,
dj

Would be interested depending on the schedule... Always wanted to play one of these.

Depending on the turn generation schedule, or depending on your own IRL schedule?
If it's the turn schedule, what are your thoughts on a conducive approach?
I'll go with the majority, but I'm hoping for flexible gens.
One of those easy going games which has people turning in when they can.... within some reasonable time frames.
In my situation, if I can find a co player to takeover for small periods, I can keep up with the pace...but if not, then I would need an occasional week pause.
