They are random and thus different each game but the same for every player... adjusted by how many leftover race points were spent into mineral concentration.

Yes I understand.
My false assumption was that since they was random each game, they was also random each player.

sprocket wrote on Fri, 26 October 2012 21:29... but I will try to balance it out so nobody is in a extremely sparse area.
If you need a neutral 3rd party to gen the game, I would be glad to help. Am online for the next 12 hours.
Ron generally uploads the files within 2-3 days, so you won't lose any time .

Thank you Bob, and thanks for your offer Nmid.
Slight delay, small error in a race that hopefully will be corrected quickly, everything is set to go.
Ah! My stars itch affected my recollection skill temporarily .....
Sprocket, could I suggest that you add your/a secondary email id to all the turns, thus mantaining an archive of all the files.
Once the game gets over, they can be 'published'...
It's too much effort writing game stories once the game ends, but going through turns is much simpler and tells a lot !

Having an history could potentially open abusive situations which are not welcome.
For example, I was the last player to submit. Reason is quite simple: I'm not on the same GMT that most players. I got home from work (yes, I work in the weekend) and I suddenly realized that the game was starting up and I was the last player to submit. Which I did ASAP.
However, in the course of a normal game I very often submit late. Very late, often at deadline. It is never intentional, because of GMT difference again... But someone who would want to mess up with someone else intentionally by looking at the history of uploads, finding up the habits of another player, and could try to adjust game time gen by submitting last early or late at that other player disadvantage. Depending of what would be best to annoy or try to corner an enemy who need to do extra MM in a war, for example.
So this kind of option is better left out, especially since it is not critical or even needed.

Yeah, this.
What timezone are you in, may I ask? I'm in GMT +11 right now.

Just got online after a bit of downtime... Curious as to how that would that affect the total time available to any one person.
Even if the gen time would be all over the place, you would still get 24 hours (or more) to play. In fact, you won't be the last person to submit/play, but rather somewhere in the earlier submits.
The only possible disadvantage is in diplomacy/ team coordination.
That is easily countered as diplomacy is rarely a same turn revert... As for team coordination, you would just have to leave the onus on ur team mate instead of on yourself, having submitted before him. Not really that game changing considering you both aren't on at the same time anyway.
