Well, I connected via linkedin with one of the first people with whom I played Stars! many years ago.
I got thinking about the game and found my way back here.
It has been several years since I have played... amazing how much I have forgotten! The good point is that it seems to come back quickly. As I remember the last game I played... after having not played for years... I got the basics back easily... but it took me many game years before I remembered a lot of the details.
2 of my 4 kids are out of the house now... so I am thinking I might have time for a small or medium size game. Or if anyone needs a replacement player for a game not too complicated...
I would like most to play a team game. I have vague memories of one where there were 4 2-person teams, each starting in a corner.
I would be happy to hear any thoughts anyone has...

P.S. I saw some posts with a 'No BUG" emblem, At first I got annoyed as I often play races called Bugs. Then I realized that it was not about me.

Welcome back, Raindancer!
For many years I've played Stars! on-and-off solo and followed the writings of the community. I was on AutoHost for a while a few years back and did get in a couple of games (alas with no distinction). I missed Stars! and just came back to AutoHost recently.
There's a game just starting that was planned for 8 players but just have 7 with submitted race files: Stone Age Slaughter 7. In brief, it's a slow-tech weapons-expensive bleeding-edge-tech no-Alpha-or-Beta-Torps-on-ships game.
If you're interested, give us a post in the thread. I've asked the others to wait to give you a chance to decide.
