thats no good but glad you're ok.

Brings back lots of memories of the 2008 bush fires here in victoria. If you ever come to Victoria in summer don't go bushwalking if it is a windy day and over 35.

yeah temperature wise 30 is ok down south because of the low humidity. But once the north wind gets up and the temperature starts climbing a bush fire is going to happen.

I think the temperature was 41 when the fires came through in 2008, but the wind was the killer, the fire moved so fast people where incinerated before they could get to safety.

I remember as a kid watching the Ash Wednesday fire from my dad's farm the ridge line glowing in the night. But the ones in 2008 were worse because so many more people had moved to the country but not really taken any precautions.

Anyway I the fire near Ashlyn is under control.

greetings!

the main reason for the delay was a problem with one of the racefiles. i have not been able to reach hystirix, so i think we shall generate without him, since you have been waiting so long.

Hystirix, don't despair, a new game will be opening up soon. Nod

Don't worry Asmodai I'm sure the game will begin soon. Be interesting to see how things progress mid to late game with such quick turnarounds between turns.

Really? Confused3
Folks are reportedly seeing UFOs in a lot of the video coverage of the Waldo Canyon Fire. I didn't notice anything in your video. What minute was it?

I am sure that there would be an increase of sightings around Colorado Springs any time that sky is scrutinized more than usual. I think there are four air bases in the area.

I read that flir equipped UAVs were/are used to find hotspots. I suspect there is also a bunch of EWOSS hardware in the air to compensate for impaired ground-based equipment, and to keep tabs on the up-tick in air traffic around secure areas. Hover capability that is good for surveillance might be helpful when dealing with rapid pressure changes associated with large burns.

If anyone has some time to kill before we start, here is some reading material http://wiki.starsautohost.org/wiki/Article_Library

idk. I see a lot of helicopters, some satellites, and an aerial antennae...

My neighbours have been launching Chinese lanterns and shooting them down with rockets, while their friends try to disrupt the rockets with mortars.

I wish stars! made room for point defence and more robust ECM. But then we would need fighters and mobile defence platforms. Weber style combat would be amazing, but I don't see how it could be adapted to this kind of platform.
