I came to think of a question about the Mystery Trader, something that isn't mentioned in my description of all things concerning the Mystery Trader which you can find here: http://craebild.dk/MT.html.
The question is, quite simply: What happens if the fleet contains colonists ?
There is of course no reason to send colonists along with a fleet intended to trade with the Mystery Trader, but accident happen, and as mentioned in my description it is possible to trade with the Mystery Trader without intending to. So what happens if there is a fleet with at least 5000 kT minerals plus some colonists at the same location as the Mystery Trader, and that race hasn't traded with that particular Mystery Trader yet ?
It is of course just simple curiosity, and a question of making my description of the Mystery Trader as complete as possible.

Reminds me of Torchwood 3: Children of Earth, where the govt gives away 12 children for alien tech.
Without actual testbedding, I think the MT takes them in without affecting the trade.
What happens to them is ripe for imaginative minds to introspect.
I remember reading a really funny crossover of the X-Files duo on board a MT consignment.
I know my minefields.. but I'm a chaff sweeper.
I used to curse when I got stuck in traffic... till I realised I AM traffic.Report message to a moderator

Thank you for the input.
I ended up testbedding it after all, and they are absorbed by the MT - And they do not count towards the 5000 kT minimum, so sending colonists instead of minerals does not work.
I have updated my description of the Mystery Trader to include that information.
As that testbed was done using some older files it also told me that replacing the HD and reinstalling Windows gives a different machine ID in Stars! .x# files, so that can trigger the emperor bug. Triggering the emperor bug in that testbed only caused a delay of less than a minute as I had to copy in some files from backup, redo my test change and sanitize the .x# files to prevent the emperor bug from happening again, so there was no harm done there.
