Hello,

I am new with this game, and it is fantastic.

My concern right now, is that horrible yellow colour of the word Germanium and all their tonnage, for example in remote mining.

itīs me only or it is difficult to see on screen?

Have anybody idea how to change it?

Thanks

Yes, the color is annoyingly hard to see, and no there is no way to change it.

Unless I'm wrong, which I'd be happy to be.

It's actually something to do with monitor specs.
I can see the germ yellow quite nicely on one computer, while another used to give me massive pains.

try messing around with the display settings..
Right click on desktop > Personalize (i.e. get into control panel's display settings) > Advanced Settings > Color Management
If you use an Intel onboard graphics card, like my laptop does, go to graphic properties > Color Correction and mess around with the contrast and gamma.

ps - Do you know about the starbase icon to the right of the population number on the planet dialouge box?

ps 2 - Also, speaking of color changing utilities, there is one that changes "player" colors.. but as vonkreedon said, I don't think there's one to change mineral colors.

I when into my monitor control panel and moved the Gamma setting almost all the way to the left to be able to see the G yellow.

I'm using windows 7 with Intel Graphics & Media Control Panel and Microsoft Virtual PC 2007 with 4 Win-XP virtual machines(one for each game).

Hello,

I have an ATI Radeon Mobile HD 2600, and using Colour Corrections I have reach some better view of yellow. However, I think a better colour could be chosen Rolling Eyes

Welcome to the Stars! Cheers Disco

That particular shade of rather pure Yellow happens in more places, such as the "hab value" map, with its Greens, Reds, and Yellows. It should be possible to change it somewhere in the binary, but I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for it. Rolling Eyes

On the other hand, you should perhaps check you monitor calibration just in case its settings are out of whack. Some people have eyes quite sensitive to tiny variations that others can simply ignore. Going insane

There's lots of websites that can help with calibration. One such would be http://displaycalibration.com/ Work at computer

Some better colour cannot be chosen. It is a Windows 3.11 game and this yellow is a standard color (for the time).

Beside, if you use a "normal" CRT monitor (like I still do) the yellow color is quite nice. As usual.

CTR monitors are always better for gaming.

ofc not... My 14" LCD laptop monitor works just as well for the stars germ yellow or for playing a game of HALO.

As an old saying goes, it's a difference of 19-20.

Maybe, but my old 21-inch some 30kg weight CRT monitor took half of the destop for itself, not to mention 280W power it consumed. With that power I now run my comp AND 23" LCD and stil have room for my legs when I feel I need to put them on the desktop. Very Happy

BR, Iztok

Try clicking on the yellow bar. It gives you a breakdown of the surface minerals, mineral concentration and mining rate.

I can see the yellow fine, but if I really want to know how much I've got, I don't try reading the bar ...

You may also find it useful to click on the scale below and adjust it to suit.

I have same problem with my LCD screen - if I am doing remote mining I cannot see the figure for how much Ge is being mined each year although it is usually possible to have a good idea by looking at the other figures and work out an estimate based on the relative mineral concentrations.

I guess the answer is to find the manual for the screen and see if I can adjust the settings - but as I don't seem to do any remote mining in recent games it is not a major problem.

You should use the Planet Report for that. You can even dump it to file, load it into Excel (or equivalent) and do all kinds of datamining too. Cool
