Greets,

FA7, Fledgling Admirals 7, needs a replacement player.

I am the non-playing host. All files can be delivered. A good ally is eagerly awaiting you.

The game is beginner to lower intermediate, 9 players, small/packed, game year is 2470, heavy fighting everywhere but no dropouts yet and we are just deciding wether to slow down from 3 to 2 turns/week.

* Game announcement

The race is JoaT, under heavy attack, but still holding his ground and in no way beaten but rather on the contrary, IMHO the game is quite open and 3 alliances of each 2 player still need to fight it out. You would be in one of those 3 alliances.

If you are interested, contact me via email: altruist at arglos dot net

I am the ally to this player and I am building a fleet which I will be sending down to help whoever takes over. The fleet will be their's to do with as they want - just tell me where to send it after it arrives.

Just a small fleet, a few BBs and a smattering of Hush-a-Boom B17s...

The fleet is going to be called "The Welcome Pack".

No one?

I was quite sure that someone would be interested.

I'm one of the opponents of this race.. but he's done quite well.
A neutral information module about the race :

He's in the extreme western portion (S4) of the universe with a good hold on his area.
Seems to have good working relations with his neighbours to the north (an IT - S1) and to his South-East (an AR - S8).
He is at war with the CA-SD alliance.. the CA to his south (S7) and the SD to his east (S5)(who's got only 2 planets or so left).
His ally (a JOAT with impressive mobilization) is in the South-East portion of the universe (S9) who's taken over a number of the SD's planets in S5.

S1 S2 S3
S4 S5 S6
S7 S8 S9

The turn's going to gen in a day, so if you are interested, you better mail Altruist.

Nmid.
2470.

No one?

I'm half tempted to suggest we put my race on ice and I'll be the replacement player...

heh.. that actually makes sense.
It might be a good idea to put in default autobuild orders of 100 defences on all your existing planets, set the last fleet orders and then set your race to dead.

Wonder what Altruist will say to that.

GS already told me the same thing. And even though we are actually allied, I told him I would object myself because of conflict of interest.

So, I object because of conflict of interest.

I thought of GS as well but it's not the same situation with Void.

I might not be able to put this succinctly, but....
the original 43 has been at war with you and GS,
while had a low level/zero conflict with me and grendal.

In the case of Void, he's
been at an low level/zero conflict with you and GS,
while he has been at war with me and grendal.

If I had to choose, as a player, between three options
A> 43 being inactive,
B> 43 being taken over by GS
C> 43 being taken over by Void...

I would choose the last, despite the fact that if he takes over 43 it could mean complications due to our war, but it would still be better than 43 going inactive, imo.

Even if I personally see the next 43 working informally with you (taking the attacks down a notch), if GS replaces 43 it would be a definite eventuality.
Thus the conflict of interest as you pointed out.

However if Void replaces 43, from his previous posts, I don't any sudden alliances being reworked.
There's no love lost between Void and me/grendal or him and you/GS.

I'm guessing he would work with snot to take the best action possible.. which could either mean
> sticking to the original alliance of 4 and attacking grendal/me > or perhaps you, or
> attacking oceanics/copoids.

It would depend on how Altruist reads the situation and if he makes the alliance between Snot (BK) and 43 (GS/Void) a permanent one.

edit - post changed.

I tend to agree. I only offer as a slightly better worst case solution if a replacement is not found. But I'm happy to withdraw. Best of luck to you all!

I can temporarily take over as the replacement for 2-3 weeks, but I am an advanced player. This should give you guys time to find another player.

If you guys don't come right with void or orange I will have more than enough time to be a replacement (A bit of a down turn in activity at work) I'm so-so with experience but haven't played in years, esp with mid-tale game not that experienced Smile

Hey hey, for days no interest at all and than a whole bunch of players competing with each other to take over.

Thanks for the interest but by email I was contacted just a little bit earlier from another player: koolide, a beginner and new to autohost. Today he confirmed that he would take over.

Great!

Koolide. Best of luck and enjoy the game. If I had one piece of advice, without giving any game-specific information away, it would be lean heavily on your ally for advice. You're going to learn a ton!

Cheers,
Void
