I was digging through my archives and found a team game from 2001. It was huge packed. There were four teams of three players. It ended in 2487.
Our team, the Morphs, (3, 9, 11) played by (Steve, me, Wayne) was (AR, JOAT, IT). It started beginning of June and ended late September. Must have been a helluva schedule? Steve, AR, was pumping out about 120,000 Kt each mineral per year.

Wow, that was quick! Was there time for any big battles? Or did the other Teams just surrender on sight?
My 1st Team game was Huge too, and advanced quickly, but we got lots of delays for RL reasons. We reached late game and slowed down to 1 turn per week, which allowed plenty of time for doing every turn, but felt a bit too slow.
So, I'd say 3 months, plus a couple more with any luck...

I don't remember the battles back then. The turn files I had saved didn't show many battles. But I'm sure there were some. Lotsa nubian fleets floating around. And thousands of chaff came and went in some cases.
If I recall correct, the remaining contender team quit submitting. Some sort of vote on changing turn gens to longer. The vote was a draw. They voted longer. But we owned about 2/3 of the planets at the time. And we voted to continue as is.
