Stories of Biggest Stars Mistakes Players Have Made

So about 10 years ago when I was 16 I played against AI. I had no idea how to play any good. Games would take me all day. I did not know about any shortcut keys. I only knew the shift key let me select things. Each year for every planet I manually clicked each factory and mine built. I did not know how to build auto factories and mines. Click,click,click thousands of times. I became so quick at it so I thought.

I even managed to get my younger bro who was probably 12 or 13 at the time to play. I gave him a quick course on how the game was played and then we would take turns throughout the day on the computer. I couldn't understand how he always got his turns done so much faster then me.

Turns out he read the help file or just figured out how to build factories by the tens and hundreds. After I whooped him in the game I found out how much Time I wasted and was so mad.

My other big mistake would be that one of my first duels against someone I gave up early because I didn't know what to do in the situation. I was still pretty new and didn't have experience to know anything can happen in the end. We exchanged game passwords and both realized I could have clearly won if I did not accept defeat so quickly. Ouch!! Lesson Learned!!

Anyone else want to post their interesting mistakes or make any comments feel free.

Triggering the "Emperor Bug" not just for an Allie in a normal game, but later in a Team game... twice. Embarassed

At least all those hundreds of messages for two quite big races were sort of fun. Twisted Evil

If I remember, that Duel was against me. I remember thinking that I would just take a scratch race I've never played before, just for fun since you were "new". No play testing at all. Half way though you were upset at me and quit because I took such a powerful race against you. Smile

I am glad that you learned not to give up so easily. Many stars players do quit at a drop of the hat. Which is silly. I have won games as the replacement player for a race that was deemed "lost" on 2 occassions. One only had it's homewold when I took over.

Oh, and the race was a -f PP, IIRC. Not horrible, but not great by any means.

Yeah,I didn't use packet calculators or any kind of programs then So I just thought my IT was doomed.

What a great strategy you got. Scare the shiznit out of your opponent and take the W. Laughing
