Nope, ForceUser, I've already signed my name. So if you don't want to play without your babysitter, then I suggest Phil (TRSMMaiden) team up with me.

Oh, my apologies, I missed TRSMMaiden's post. Seems there are four people to discuss the last two places, with BlueTurbit and TRSMMaiden having been first, so unless they turn down their places they are in.
That will then bring the teams to:
leknufrag and Galien: Team 1
LittleEddie and Centaurian: Team 2
AlexTheGreat and Taka Tuka: Team 3
BlueTurbit and TRSMMaiden: Team 4
Welcome to the game, I hope to see your race files soon. A little more on that shortly...

I'd be happy to team up with you if you have no objection. Time zone is the only problem I see. I am in Cebu, Philippines (GMT+8) at the moment & will be for an estimated 3-5 months. After that I will be in Sydney, Australia (GMT+10).
Craebld, I assume that we can take our teammate's turns if one cannot play for a little while? eg. when I move back to Australia I will be unable 2 submit turns for a couple of weeks while I move countries, buy furniture/equipment, get the internet on & generally set up house.
|
Hi Alex,
I would like to play with you. But I will not be able to do your turns for 2 weeks. I will not have the time, because I have to play in another game as well. Could you find a temorary replacement for this case?
Please contact me by e-mail: bonn(dot)control(at)gmx(dot)de
We have to coordinate something

Hi BlueTurbit,
Will be great to team up with you though as I say I am a beginner (in other words not very good at the game! which I am mentioning incase you need an ally who is half decent I prob wont suit you) but if thats cool with you being teamed with a beginner and hopefully giving me advice etc then its cool with me
If so I will email my preliminary race file to craebild to make sure to secure my place.
My email is philburgwin at yahoo dot co dot uk (no spaces) so we can plan our conquest, be diplomatic, talk strategy etc etc

Don't sweat the small stuff. A few beginners in this game. Looks like.

I might be able to take out time then, so send me a mail if you don't find anyone.

craebild wrote on Tue, 14 June 2011 22:49 | TRSMMaiden, one of the important parts of a team game like this to coordinate race designs, so I think you will want to coordinate your race design with BlueTurbit before you send in a race design.
It wouldn't do for your race to compete with BlueTurbit's race for planets, and you probably want to concentrate on different research fields, too.
You will also want to have complementing PRT and LRT capabilities, too.
|
Thanks for the advice craebild, also BlueTurbit have got your email and just replied so we can sort stuff out.
Thanks,
Phil.

hehe... man was I wrong. It's not bad, it's beyond your worst version of apocalypse.
Took a solid AR that can get 25 by 2450 given perfect circumstances. Resources is 1174, energy is at 15, mining rate if below 30 is 34kt and none of the mineral bars are full. les than 5k on surface and half that if poor conc
Took an example JoaT from the forum 1/1000 12/7/13 12/3/13 and got 3047 resources, 17 weap +-20 000Kt of each min and 556Kt mining rate
Took an example HP JoaT also from the forum (tweaked a little but still insane) 1/2500 15/7/21 13/3/18 and got 4225 resources weapons at 18 20 000Kt - 30 000Kt on surface with mining rate of 835Kt
yea.. soo.. no, survival is not worth THAT 0.o

Yes, you will have poor mineral stacks but your resources will climb steeply over the first 10-15 years as you spread your pop since an AR plaet is fully developed (not counting terraforming) with nothing more than a pop drop. You should also have enough minerals to start building significant numbers of mining ships that are gateable (maybe with a few losses) so I suspect your minerals should grow as fast, if not faster, at new planets than those of conventiomal races. I have not tested any of this but that is my few minutes of thought.
I think you still have early problems but then that s the normal life of an AR

According to PM and message in Wheel IV game on hold, Craebild had a hard drive crash and his PC is down. He is working on a fix this weekend. So replies here may be delayed some.
