Oops my bad, I meant to say that I wanted to team with someone specific. But first come first serve so if blueturbit can find a teamy or someone else wants to play Smile (or if blueturbit wants to give up his spot Rolling Eyes ) but don't worry either way Smile

Oh, in that case it seems to be up to you, BlueTurbit and whoever you wanted to team up with to work out how that problem is to be solved.

In any case it looks like the game is about to start pretty soon.

Nope, ForceUser, I've already signed my name. So if you don't want to play without your babysitter, Laughing then I suggest Phil (TRSMMaiden) team up with me.

Oh, my apologies, I missed TRSMMaiden's post. Seems there are four people to discuss the last two places, with BlueTurbit and TRSMMaiden having been first, so unless they turn down their places they are in.

That will then bring the teams to:

leknufrag and Galien: Team 1
LittleEddie and Centaurian: Team 2
AlexTheGreat and Taka Tuka: Team 3
BlueTurbit and TRSMMaiden: Team 4

Welcome to the game, I hope to see your race files soon. A little more on that shortly...

Welcome to the game, Taka Tuka, you are in.

I'd be happy to team up with you if you have no objection. Time zone is the only problem I see. I am in Cebu, Philippines (GMT+8) at the moment & will be for an estimated 3-5 months. After that I will be in Sydney, Australia (GMT+10).

Craebld, I assume that we can take our teammate's turns if one cannot play for a little while? eg. when I move back to Australia I will be unable 2 submit turns for a couple of weeks while I move countries, buy furniture/equipment, get the internet on & generally set up house.

Hi Alex,

I would like to play with you. But I will not be able to do your turns for 2 weeks. I will not have the time, because I have to play in another game as well. Could you find a temorary replacement for this case?

Please contact me by e-mail: bonn(dot)control(at)gmx(dot)de

We have to coordinate something Wink

Here's something about race file submissions.

You should send me your race files as soon as possible, even if they are only preliminary drafts. I will then offer any advice I find appropriate, particularly if the race files looks to me to be bad designs. You can also ask me any questions you might have.

You should send the race files to wolv [at] craebild [dot] dk (replace as appropriate). You can also send the race files my PM, of course, but I will need the e-mail address you want to use with the game in any case.

I will also need the race file password (you should use a race file password even though I am a non-playing host).

You should of course make certain that your races conform to the rules for the game - See the initial post in this thread and the game rules page at http://craebild.dk/wolv.html, and you should also read through the rest of this thread, too.

@AlexTheGreat: You teammate Taka Tuka can of course play your race for a short while as you get set up in Australia.

Hi BlueTurbit,

Will be great to team up with you though as I say I am a beginner (in other words not very good at the game! which I am mentioning incase you need an ally who is half decent I prob wont suit you) but if thats cool with you being teamed with a beginner and hopefully giving me advice etc then its cool with me Smile

If so I will email my preliminary race file to craebild to make sure to secure my place.

My email is philburgwin at yahoo dot co dot uk (no spaces) so we can plan our conquest, be diplomatic, talk strategy etc etc Wink

TRSMMaiden, one of the important parts of a team game like this to coordinate race designs, so I think you will want to coordinate your race design with BlueTurbit before you send in a race design.

It wouldn't do for your race to compete with BlueTurbit's race for planets, and you probably want to concentrate on different research fields, too.

You will also want to have complementing PRT and LRT capabilities, too.

welll I guesss so. It's mostly a problem where there's NO allies. Hmm lemme run a few things and see how bad it is. But I have a feeing it's gonna be pretty bad Smile

hehe... man was I wrong. It's not bad, it's beyond your worst version of apocalypse.

Took a solid AR that can get 25 by 2450 given perfect circumstances. Resources is 1174, energy is at 15, mining rate if below 30 is 34kt and none of the mineral bars are full. les than 5k on surface and half that if poor conc

Took an example JoaT from the forum 1/1000 12/7/13 12/3/13 and got 3047 resources, 17 weap +-20 000Kt of each min and 556Kt mining rate

Took an example HP JoaT also from the forum (tweaked a little but still insane) 1/2500 15/7/21 13/3/18 and got 4225 resources weapons at 18 20 000Kt - 30 000Kt on surface with mining rate of 835Kt

yea.. soo.. no, survival is not worth THAT 0.o

Yes, you will have poor mineral stacks but your resources will climb steeply over the first 10-15 years as you spread your pop since an AR plaet is fully developed (not counting terraforming) with nothing more than a pop drop. You should also have enough minerals to start building significant numbers of mining ships that are gateable (maybe with a few losses) so I suspect your minerals should grow as fast, if not faster, at new planets than those of conventiomal races. I have not tested any of this but that is my few minutes of thought.

I think you still have early problems but then that s the normal life of an AR Smile

As a AR player you will hardly find a teammate. Not really a good option for a team game Wink.

You nuts? AR is one of the three best PRTs for a team game.

a) Can I sign up for Wheel of Life VI now?
(I think it would take enough time to get players that I will be more than ready when it starts)

b) AR is great for team games - not so good for this team game as somewhat crippled by the 50 year jump start

Yes that is very true, but that can also be seen as a challenge to come up with a team that will make it possible to play an AR. Or come up with a fair way of buffing the AR.

I hadn't set a deadline because I was hoping people could get in their race files in a timely manner without a deadline, but I still haven't received anything from one of the teams, so let's set a deadline at midnight GMT between Friday 8th and Saturday 9th July.

My PC works again, though there still are a fair number of programs I need to install.
