It is 2450 and player scores are public. We need a replacement for a strong race in a good position, and member of a top alliance. This is a contender for the single player victory. Original game announcement and rules at BIG Vanilla. I have turn archive and up-to-date history file.

I spent saturday in planning out what to do with the race (2450>2451) but I am finding it a bit tough to jump into the seat in a running game. Scared that I'll mess it up for my ally.
I'm waiting for my ally (Lord) to respond to my saturday's mail and hope that I'll be able to plan out decent moves.
I'm off the entire day today and on Wednesday.
Once I get the 1st turn done, I'll be able to follow the regular schedule.
Btw, I know I was a new poster too, but why is it that all beginners who post are with 1 post only? Are there really so many players who have JUST started playing stars?
Is it just me being paranoid ?

No, I don't think you are paranoid, I think it is because most new players read posts on the forum for while before asking to play in a game, so most often the first time a new player posts on the forum, it is to play in a game.
There are also many new players who have played with friends, as most new players have been introduced to Stars! by friends.
And then there are old-timers who don't remember their user name and password, they also start with just one post, even though they might be quite experienced.
