 Hello, I used to play stars about ten years ago. Something reminded me about it last night and I decided i'd like to play again Smile However i've no idea where my copy is and can't seem to find it to buy. If anyone could point me in the right direction that would be awesome Smile

You can download a version here:

For online play I would recommmend:
http://starsautohost.org/files/stars26jrc4.zip
since this is the version used here on AutoHost.
It's not an install but the entire .exe file.

You'll need a serial though, for which you can ask Ron, the administrator of this forum. Also see the thread Getting serial numbers in the "Stars! - Must Know" forum.

It's fun to see so many people coming back to a game that looks a little old on the outside, but inside is still one of the most overall satisfying strategic and tactical games on the planet.

I hope you'll take a swing at playing an online game with human players.

 Thanks for the info guys, and yeah the plan is to play a game or two on here as I lost contact with the school friends I used to play with :S. I was playing intermediate games but that was a long time ago so will be starting out with a beginner game Razz

 You could consider playing a few duels to get back in shape. Duels are great to get back into the race building scheme of things. Smile

 I have discovered that playing one full game and one duel at the same time is the best option. Full games are still really fun, and duels fill the blanks in between the full game gens.

I'd like to be able to help you but I am already playing a duel against NeilHoward. You could also come and join us in Starlink #STARS! if you need pointers about building a good duel race. Smile

Welcome Amanda!

Sounds like you would fit right in if Altruist plans on running another Fledging Admirals game anytime soon. He has hosted 6 of those so far & they are aimed at "beginners & rusty oldtimers".
