stars error..

im in a duel.. and i just got my 2nd or 3rd turn. i type my password in and get this message..

STARS! caused a General Protection Fault in moduel STARSJ~1.EXE 0024:0A14.

can someone help me figure out what the problem is please.

Perhaps PaulCr can check your m file for corruption. Confused

Also, ask your game host for a new copy of the m file.

Also, try renaming your h file and your x file to something else, then retry. Sherlock

The guy who is hosting sent me back up file and original a few times and doesn't work.
We found out if he skips a turn then i get an error saying ignoring corruption and it works for one turn.. and then same thing happens again where he has to skip another turn.. this is really bad for me.

Do we both have to change the x and h file to the same thing? so can i just add a 1 at the end to it?

We are using same version of stars.. different serial numbers. Is this problem maybe happening from a corrupted race file??

Perhaps there's a really big battle going on? Battleboard overload can lead to that kind of problem. Hit Computer

What turn is the game already? If it was race corruption it should have exploded in the very 1st turn. Sherlock

About the only other options you have is reverting the game to a few turns back, via backups. And cross fingers and touch wood... Wall Bash

You can rename player files to anything you want. But the fix would only work if it was your x or your h file that were corrupted and needed redoing. Or those of the other player(s). If the problem has spread to the hst file, then backups are about your only option. Sick

thanks guys.. we did try back ups and stuff and it didnt work all the time.. for some reason today we had no errors at all. So i guess problem solved.
