Anybody play this game? I don't play it but I just stumbled upon it and was curious of what people thought about it. Looks like it might be kind of similar to stars, just different?

I've played VGA Planets in the past, but I prefer TradeWars 2002 to it. In some ways, I prefer TW2002 to stars even.
Though TW2002 is by and large just a scripting game these days <_<
If you guys want to get some info one either game, you can start here: http://www.outpost-4.com/ The site (IMO) is kinda dead, but I do believe he just banged every game on the TWGS server

I used to play planets 3.0 back in the day. I tried to play the new demo for latest game but the learning curve was very steep.
I liked this game because 1. you can have carriers - fighters dynamicaly changed combat 2. everyones ships were race specific 3. you have indigenious species that help or hinder your civ on each planet.
it was a cool game for its day. I used to love taking the borg and acclerating pop growth through assimalation. the cube battlecarriers didn't hurt either.
