 Does anybody know of a website that lists every component and all their attributes? Its obnoxious when I can't remember a component's statistics and I can't find them with google. Sad

F2.... opens the Technology Browser within Stars. There you can see all compnents except the MT-goodies (and even those if you have got the plan from the MT),

 I thought about doing that on the Wiki myself, but the reason was more because I wanted to have the items listed by tech and not by group like it is right now in the technology browser.

I wrote some pages for the Wiki when it was pretty boring here at work, but I doubt I'll ever have the time to do all this in one day. And if I don't, there is only a small chance that I'll ever do it...

 Yes. That's nice, but what I had in mind included a picture of all the items as well as a link to go see the full image of what you see in the browser.

That would be a huge amount of work... But in the end it could also be used by any other page on the Wiki.

 Oh, the same tool I used to build the techtree already does all that. Did you notice every item in the techtree has a link? Very Happy

 Hmm none of the components in the tech tree actually link to anything for me.

All I was hoping to find was the description / stats / resource cost / mineral cost for all the components, and the hull layouts for the ship hulls. I was thinking about uploading it to the wiki as well; maybe this weekend if I have time.

 Sorry, I should have been clearer: the "techtree" is only a part of my overall "all items infodumper", the part that was more or less finished and thus seemed a good candidate for separate publishing. UFO abduction

The rest of the tool's output (the part that fell to the cutting floor) is less polished. It includes item stats & costs but no descriptions. It also includes the fuel table and the ship hulls. Deal

The hulls suffer from some weird html distortion and display "funny". They are one of the things that need polishing. Wall Bash

I'll send the file to Gible. Hopefully he can publish it and perhaps others will fix what needs fixing. Rolling Eyes

 Yes, my listing has "img src" tags, but I got the icons themselves stored in an old disc so I'm not including them.

I have yet to polish the hull displays, but the rest is as ready for shipping as can be made in a short time. Rolling Eyes

By the way, the data I'm using comes from the "Unedited MOD" (or something very similar) available at http://www.starsfaq.com/download.htm

 Thumbs Up m.a@stars has sent me the "all items infodumper" which I've put up here alongside the [[url]http://wiki.starsautohost.org/m.a.stars/techtree.htm[/url]]tech tree[/url] that was already up. Smile

Looking at it all, I can see it going into the wiki as one table per article and an all in one aritcle similar to the utilities. Like the article db from Stars! FAQ, it'll take awhile - moreso this time because I(we!) can't really skimp on the formatting like I did with some of the articles Rolling Eyes *ahem* Very Happy

 Whoopsy, I forgot to tweak the title... Confused

The page should be called "infodump". The "infodumper" is the tool that builds it from the "unedited" data. Rolling Eyes

Unfortunately hulls aren't included (yet) as hull display is one of the messier parts of the original tool.
