Moving Stars!

Hi All,

I played Stars! a long time ago. I have a serial number, but am not sure why I left it, I might have to dig for it. My version is working on an old PC. I would like to play on my new PC but I can't move the directory and make it work.

I looked in the registry for a key, but didn't see anything remotely associated with Stars!.

If anyone knows how to move the working directory of Stars! and have it still work, please let me know, otherwise I will just donate for a new key, or dig for the old one.

Hello,

once you enter the serial your "installation" of Stars! is linked to that machines hardware configuration. I believe that (in the old days) even adding a HD would prompt you to input the serial again.

IOW you can't move your copy to another machine without needing to input the serial again.

Don't forget to move the Stars.ini file too (located in the Windows folder)
