JoaT gets a ton of advantages in this scenario, they're one to watch out for.
One thing I discovered in testbedding is that tech-zero items don't seem to be affected by the Bleeding Edge double cost if you have a tech level at 0. I didn't know this.

Hello all,
Since Fog of War II seems like it will never start, I'd like to join this game. I'd like to think of myself as intermediate; though I never got a solo win I have been allied with the winner before. I have been in about a half a dozen multi-player games and played to the end in all of them.
Do I qualify for this one?

Alter Ego has taken the final spot and confirmed he will play. A list of confirmed players is at the bottom of the original game advert on Page 1.
We are full and ready to go!
I will send out a request for race files tomorrow to give everyone a few precious hours to tune up your race files.
As soon as the race files are verified, I will send the game files to Ron for game setup.
Thanks all, and good luck in the game!
John

As mentioned earlier, I have a problem with my current PC, but I should have new one by Thursday evening my time. I definitely wish to take part in this game, so if I can delay my submission until Sunday evening or later my time, then I should be in, if there is a slot available.

Marduk wrote on Tue, 18 November 2008 16:22 | I have a design for each PRT I'm considering, I just have to decide which PRT to use. Regardless, I believe I'll name the race Apes of Wrath - seems suitably Stone Age.
Will we be allowed to trade ships for purposes other than tech? Say, minelayers for penscanners or something similar to help cover up a race weakness.
|
Hahahaa!! LOVE your race name.
Yes, you will be able to trade ships, but you may NOT scrap those ships in a way that enables you to gain tech.
If you must scrap, you should scrap them in open space or just delete the design.
|
In that case, the neutral third party would have to check each turn closely after ships have been exchanged. It might be easier to stipulate that the ships may not be built with techs at levels the receiving race does not yet have. If you include a rule that such a donation has to be announced to the NTP by email, he would only have to check once.

Hi Craebild,
Unfortunately all of the slots are now confirmed. But if you would like to be a backup in case someone falls through, that would be good. I'm also not opposed to hosting a second game if there is enough interest.
