Just what are the odds and amount of damage involved with going warp 10 with a engine that is unsafe to do so? Does weight or type of engine effect the outcome? I have glanced over the academy post and have seen nothing.

He who fights with monsters should look to it that he himself does not become a monster...when you gaze long into the abyss the abyss also gazes into you.

Each ship has a 10% chance of blowing up, all calculated independently, IIRC.

That's in theory. In practice it's: the more important the arrival, the bigger the chance a ship will blow up. Proof: move lots of chaff and it will be less than 10%. Move at W-10 a freighter with extremely valuable cargo, BOOOM!!! Damn Jeffs! Wink

Seriously, in my current game it seems to me the chance is 50% not 10%. In 4 attempts (7 ships) at unsafe W-10 I lost 4 ships. Not statisatically sound numbers, but frustrating anyway. Sad

BR, Iztok

Remember that kind of statistics only works for large numbers. So, keep trying. Rolling Eyes

Confuse? Why? What you and Iztok and I said is true. That's how statistics works. Twisted Evil
