I'm just a little annoyed that even after asking in advance that i couldn't get an extra half day in tempest 5 so instead have to take losses and lose planets while i am away.

Anyways, I'm resigning from hidden friends. I don't feel like there is sufficient payback for the effort i put into this game. When other players were quitting because they were losing, I stayed in and continued playing even knowing the situation was hopeless, including picking up the extra 30min a turn or so of doing my ally's turn as well. Is it so much to ask that they put a game on hold so that i can actually compete in the games in which i still have a fighting chance?

anyways, consider this my concession of hidden friends. Congrats to the Eye on their victory (or at least probable victory).

I'm thinking that the host didn't get your request in time. In my experience the vast majority of hosts would grant the delay & if they didn't they'd tell you so & why.

When hosting I have caught such a request just in time a couple of times. Hosts aren't necessarily at their computer every day especially if they've had to travel somewhere.

If you think you might need a little extra time then try to ask for it as early as possible.

gah you're right..i'm just pissed because i lost lots of stuff that there was no way in hell i would have lost if i had been there...3 planets will be lost plus he probably got free tech last turn. And the sad thing is..all these games i'm in will be determined in this same way...

i still don't feel like finishing the play through of hidden friends though..it's just too long and too much work for something that is already decided. If i had some reason to believe that my extremely time-consuming defense would help the other team (the hand) have a chance, then i would be willing to put in the effort...but they keep missing turns and seem much smaller than the eye. With no communication in that game, there can be no alliances. Even though I haven't been attacking them (since i'm busy defending against the eye), i don't really feel like the game is in debate.

ya, and apologies for posting this to begin with..just put it down to the ramblings of a pissed gamer. I guess i'll go ahead and do my hidden friends turn as well, both mine and my allies. I would appreciate it if a winner would be declared soon as i dislike playing when i consider the game settled.

I for one would like to thank you for continuing your game when you apparantly believe that your situation is not good.

One of my pet peeves is people who drop as soon as things start looking difficult.

IIRC your game disallows diplomacy which is a pity since it takes away the possibility of ganging up against a dominant leader or throwing in with another player/alliance where you could play as a king maker.
