The final game of the Duelling Club Championship was between Per and bystander.
In 2436 the Svaevers, played by Per, gave up and thus victory goes to the Malcontents played by bystander.
New champion of the Duelling Club is bystander!
Congrats!
Rules of the game:
* Small, Normal Universe, Acc-BBS, No Random Events, Public Player Scores
* Victory is achieved via surrender of opponent or highest score via aquired target planets
in year 2460
* Scores are gained by having population on seven target worlds. Those target worlds were:- 3 points for each HW
- 3 pts for the centerworld Zanzibar
- 1 pts for each corner world: Fez, June, Bonus, Greene
The rules also included:
* detailed reports on this forum
* the Grand Champion must agree to post his race design to this forum as well
I know that both players are already in an in-depth discussion about the game and do hope that they publish it here.

An additional note about the generated universe.
I chose the above universe out of a dozen for the following reasons: - the important center-score-planet Zanzibar is almost exactly inbetween both contrahents
- the 2 corner planets June and Fez are considerably closer to Per's Svaevers than to bystander's Malcontents and vice versa are Bonus and Green closer to the Malcontents
- at first look it seems that the Malcontents have an advantage because they are closer to the center than the Svaevers but looking more closely reveals:
- next planets to the Malcontents' HW are more than 100-ly away
- planet concentration in the Svaevers' corner is denser So, as usual we have no ideal universe with absolute equal starting positions and chances but it looked good enough to me and also quite an interesting strategic extra challenge for both players in this finale.

Not that anyone is going to get excited about such a vanilla design, but the rules of the game did state that the final race be published:
Inner-Strength
IFE, ISB, NRSE, OBRM, NAS, RS (Yep, expensive to have so many)
Grav Immune, Temp -140 to 140, Rad 76 to 96
1 in 6 hab
PGR=19%
1 resource per 900 colonists
5/25/5 factories no check
10/3/13 mines
En, Weap, and Con cheap, Elec, Prop & Bio exp
Start @3 checked
2 points left in surface minerals

Congrats to Bystande. He has played well, adjusted well to my strategy, and more often than not he outplayed in all the little tactical situations thoughout the game.
Thank's also to the hosts during the series: Mazda and Altuist, you've done a good job.
And the race for the loosing race is quite like the winning race:
SD
IFE, NRSE, OBRM, ISB, NAS, RS
grav: 0.13 - 8.00 (98% of band width), temp: -192 - 200 (98%), rad: 45 - 81 (36%), app. 1 in 2.9, 20% growthrate
-F, mines: 10/3/11
cheap: weap, con, normal: prop, exp: ener, elec, bio. Start at 3.
My game plan for this race: -F SD, somewhat unusual for this year's duelling it seemes. I certainly consider it inferior to the almost identical IT -F which I used with great succes vs. Wizard. The opening will be to quickly send a few minelayers and DDs far out to gain control of the space in the two neutral quadrants as well as the center. This will have to be followed up extremely aggressively in order to keep him boxed in. Expansion will almost entirely be tactical, leaping to key planets that are vital for controlling the space (i.e. denying B access to space). Also I expect early on (not later than 2420) to colonize one or two reds that might, just might, be a key planet for B's expansion. Wide habitability and high growth is chosen instead of one immunity and narrower hab in order to be able to tactically settle good green planets all over the map.
