Seriously though, I don't what glitch caused that to appear but I doubt it's any kind of serious problem.

Details, pls? Were you playing solo? Or against the AIs? Was there a SS race present in the galaxy? What ships were involved? With what kind of battleorders? Did you get a battle report? Had you set yourself as friend? Rolling Eyes

 PBEM. 2 races present. My fleet had specific orders to attack another race. Both set to enemy. His one fleet consisted of a space station. Mine consisted of BBs with torps and bombers.

Fleet positioning on the vid of the battle report was interesting. My fleet turned up 3 squares from his base. His base had range 5 missiles (+1). My fleet had range 5 torps. The battle lasted one round and no shots were fired. My ships cruised around his base.

There is an SS race present in the galaxy although neither of us are that PRT.

This probably caused the bug to appear.

Check the Starbase FAQ, some weird behaviour/positions listed, though maybe not this particular one, has been a while since I tested and wrote it ... and I didn't test all possible battle plan combinations.

So the "involving one race" part of the msg was a bug... Confused

So something very weird happened to the battle itself, which perhaps can explain the weird msg, but... Shocked

 However, sometimes friendly races present at a planet will NOT participate in the battle.
