You might have more luck if you ask this in the Bar ... though I'm guessing the answer would be: no ...

Check out http://starsautohost.org/sahforum/index.php?t=msg&th=364 8&rid=198&S=e94b7e763b209e1bf3db797f2f8c4c87&pl_ view=&start=0#msg_34954 for a French version of FreeStars. I have not looked at this myself and so cannot vouch for it's stability or usefulness. There was a French Stars! Web site a few years ago, but I can't find it now.

There is no effective way to translate the existing version of Stars into French (or any other language for that matter). The executable is packed so there are no Ascii strings that can be edited. IF the executable was unpacked, then strings could be edited to transīlate into another language, BUT, many of the string lengths would have to remain constant to prevent any code after a section of strings from having different addresses.

Better to work on the Freestars project where any language issue can still be addressed.

This isn't a really a question for this forum so the topic is moved to The Bar.

Though we often ask how and why, we must also do to get the answers to the questions.
