I'm in a game at the moment where a wormhole has been "extremely volatile" for 30+ years. That seems statistically incredible so I was wondering if the average life for such a WH had changed at some point.

I thought it was 5 years.

There were three wormholes in The End... All appearing I think within the first 30 years. All three still existed when the game ended in 2516 Shocked

I think all three had reached 'extremely volatile' but cycled back to stable after shifting positions at least once.

Quite unusual, eh? Shocked

Could it be because that very convenient WH is rarely used? Razz

This thread on the newsgroup might interest you.
Seems "extremely volatile" is more stable than "volatile" <g> and longest reported existence of the former seems to be 104 years. Shocked
