The Stars Technology Browser shows a graph "Shield Coverage vs. Defense Quan"(tity) with two different curves - a blue "Standard" one and a red "Smart" curve. I find no mentioning of this difference in the Help function or the other places I looked.
Can anyone tell me the meaning and consequences of this?

Thanks,

Dolphin

The handbook says "Smart bombs destroy colonists, but not Mines or Factories. They are twice as effective as other bombs at penetrating planetary defenses".

That is why you have different efficiency curves on display for the defenses, the blue one is against normal bombs and invasion, the red one against smart bombs.

If we were esteemed intelligent 'enough', they would have contacted us.
If we can not find them, either we are not smart enough, or they are smarter at hiding.
