Sent 2456 after I received an in-game message more or less requesting aid plus noone had said anything against me trying to hire the Minbari.

Hi, sorry, don´t have much time to write in character or detail.

There is an intergalactic independant alliance. Since it´s pretty obvious that I´m one of them I´m the sort of public spokesperson.

Simple question: do you want to join? It seems improbable that the Shadows will pick you up and to be honest you seem to be in deep trouble. There´s not much we could actively do to defend you since you´re too far out, but if you agree to join, we could supply you with intel and technology through our established wolf/lamb sites.

This will probably not be enough should the Shadows or their allies decide to wipe you out. But you might at least maybe make it a bit more difficult for them.

Of course joining you´d have to promise not to join one of the elder alliances in the unlikely event that they did seek you out in 2462.

received in 2459:

IA basically down one member, then again they would have been toast anyway but could have occupied the shadow alliance for a couple of turns. Sad

Hi

I am also sorry, Shadows already have made acts of war against us through the hands of Dilgar... we can not take our chances now... so we decided to provide allegiance to Shadows.

The whole universe is full of races who seek power and domination but we Minbari care more for the life of an individual...
though we make this step only out of neccessity.. but we can not do otherwise either.

we will not though serve Shadows and will never attack you, if they should ever ask it then we will inform you and turn all our weapons on them. by the way we can also provide secret info to independent allegiance about shadows, if that be necessary.

Neo/ Minbari.

Hi,
can you please give us an update on your status with the shadows
since technically you´re a member of the IA now. What promises did
you have to give to avoid being wiped out? I asked before, if you
already sent an answer I didn´t get it, just found out Martian
messages have been caught in the spam filter.

Hi, yes I may have got something but sometimes the posts end up in spam...

Basically I offered my support to defend the border for them and act as an intelligence.

if that is acceptable for IA, good if not then no probs but I won't suddenly just turn against the Shadows for then I'll be gone.

though I am not afraid of turning against the shadows should the need come. but I play by gentelman rules.

OK,
no problems expected with that position. In case you don´t have the galactic overview here´s a short primer: The Vorlon alliance is a lot stronger than the shadows, pushing into two lesser races space and soon having 6 HWs and a lot of planets between them plus a TT CA on their side.

Because of this the core of the IA (Gaim, Llort, Drakh, Spoo, Pak) have decided with a heavy heart to side with the Shadows for now. The Vorlons are too strong for either the IA or the Shadows to take on their own. Exact details have yet to be discussed though, it´s more a general memorandum of understanding heading that way.

If you want to work closer with the IA you have tell us, but though even though we´d be working with the shadows to some extend anything internal you learn there shouldn´t be passed on as intel to the Shadows. We could e.g. include you in the member list for the IA and thus you´d be safe from shadow attacks anyway when we sign the NAP. Of course, if we ever defeat the Vorlons you´d have to fight on the side of the IA, superceeding your original agreement with the shadows.

There´s a lot to learn in a big alliance with experienced players btw... Wink

Ok that's good.

I will not pass on any intel of IA to shadows, though if necessary I will provide intel about shadows to IA.

so my loyalties are to IA... whatever comes

Mmmh, at the moment I would pass to the Minbari only those bits of infos which we want to get leaked to the Shadows anyway.

But let's see how things develop with the Minbari.

Andreas:

On the Minbari: Player is from Estonia and I guess aside from learning Stars not too comfortable with English (hence I guess he never waded through a 80 or so page strategy guide... Wink ). I think we should give him forum access and include him in some discussions for him to learn. I ´ll be sending him my turn files also, though I guess there´s no need for full access yet, he´d probably be overwhelmed anyway. I´ll send Ron a message unless anyone objects in the next 2 days.

I don't feel really comfortable giving them access to this forum.

My suggestion: not now... it's not really needed at the moment anyway but much harm can be done when the Minbari stick to their agreement with the Shadows and pass on intel.

We can think about it again when the Minbari play an active role and we need to coordinate with them.

Andreas:

Can you build observers for them? I´ll later on feed them con through scapping, at the moment
they´re so far behind that any tech is worthwhile.

If this is addressed to me... I can't build "spectators" for the Minbari this round. I've got only 1 slot free and if I understood John correctly he is transfering a design to me this year.

It's getting a bit tricky with ship slots, right now I have 3 designs for scrappers, 1 spectator, 1 wolf from Vorlons, 1 observer (Drakh), expecting 1 more wolf from Llort (?)...

Patrick, I'm transfering a couple of Blue Pirates, same as the ones you have in the west so it shouldn't add a slot.

I agree with Patrick re. not giving the Minbari full access just yet. I will, however, provide Minbari observers - I have one spare this year so am transfering it at an energy site. Will build 5 more this year.

BTW I think Neo the White has decent English based on his forum posts. I think that some newbies don't read enough tho (ADG_ Wraith is probably another one).

Ok, building 4 spectators for the Minbari then this year. Including production, transfer (which can't be done at the W/L sites otherwise they got shot down as lambs)... first year the Minbari spectators take part in the tech exchange will be 2466.
